THE MISSION

THE MISSION is a short horror film about an explorer sent to an Earth-like planet codenamed (283451) to scan for foliage and to locate a viable energy source for their organization. When on the planet, the explorer has no luck until a small creature comes out and leads the explorer to what they’ve been looking for. The explorer, however, doesn’t know that he is being led to a monster that lies within the crevasses of the planet, waiting to consume its next victim. The primary source of the idea behind this film is based on the creature. I liked the idea that something so small can traverse a huge environment. I wanted my small creature to interact with someone of varying size, but I did not know what scenario to put them in. When I landed on the story of THE MISSION, things changed. I chose to focus on the explorer, making the creature a vehicle to lead to the explorer’s demise.
